Allergy Awareness & Emergency Response (AA&ER)

Benedict's Law allergy and anaphylaxis training for schools — whole-staff sessions, no 12-person limit.

Course Overview

Our Allergy Awareness & Emergency Response (AA&ER) course is a 1 hour 15 minute session designed for schools, covering the requirements of Benedict’s Law and the Department for Education’s Allergy Safety in Schools statutory guidance (July 2026).

Staff learn what allergy is, how to reduce the risk of exposure in school and on trips, how to recognise allergic reactions and anaphylaxis using the ABC approach, and how to respond, including adrenaline auto-injector (AAI) and nasal adrenaline device use, acute asthma and calling the emergency services.

The course is FAIB approved. There is no 12-person maximum, so your whole staff team can be trained in a single session for one group price.

Certification

Successful learners receive a FAIB-approved Allergy Awareness & Emergency Response certificate, valid for one year, confirming training and assessment for the purposes of the Department for Education’s Allergy Safety in Schools statutory guidance for governing bodies of maintained schools and proprietors of academies in England (July 2026).
